XXII WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES
Infront Sports & Media, the leading international sports marketing company, has acquired the media rights to Sub Saharan Africa for the Olympic Games in 2014 and 2016 from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Taking a collaborative approach, Infront will partner with TV Media Sport (TVMS), the France based international sports event television and organisation agency, to fulfil the contract which refers to distribution in 43 countries and territories within the region. It covers the rights for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Sports fans across the entire Sub-Saharan Africa region were able to follow the story of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games on broadcast media in unprecedented scale and depth. In a collaborative approach, led by the leading international sports marketing company Infront Sports & Media and supported with operations by the French-based sports event and television agency TV Media Sport (TVMS), Sochi 2014 coverage was achieved in 43 countries and territories within the region.
The successful media distribution effort has helped to further grow local interest in future Olympic events – particularly as the daily thirty minutes highlight programmes produced were tailored for African audiences with a focus on African athletes and the most popular competitions, complemented by the best moments of all disciplines.
African audiences were able to follow, for the first time on their television, Olympic Winter Games “Sochi 2014” thanks to a very strong and competent partnership. TV Media Sport and Infront Sports & Media, successfully distributed the media rights in the continent. Sochi 2014 coverage was achieved in 43 countries and territories within the region.
