Organised by UEFA every four years, the European Football Championship is the biggest international football event after the FIFA World Cup. World champions Spain, Italy, Germany, England, France, the Netherlands – some of the best players of the most popular sport in the world come together to contest this coveted trophy. Sixteen national teams will face off against each other in this 14th edition of the Euro, organised by Poland and Ukraine – the first time as host for both countries. Thousands of fans will flock to the stadiums, millions across the planet will watch on television. With all its star players, the UEFA EURO 2012 always puts on an unforgettable show.
As free-to-air rights holder for the Euro 2012 in 46 African countries, TV Media Sport has put together a comprehensive new strategy to cover the tournament in two languages (English and French), with live coverage of the big matches, if demand proves strong. The fabulous broadcast schedule is expected to create huge excitement – it will include the opening match, group matches, quarter-finals, semi-finals and of course the match that will crown the European champions. On top of this, TV Media Sport will also broadcast 19 highlights programmes, bringing together all the key moments of the continental championship. And as a prelude to the event, we will also produce a series of magazine shows on the history of the tournament including the most memorable matches, the stars and the goals – all of which will be available to our partners.
